Psalm 4:8 - In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety.

Many thanks to my friend, Katie, for sending me this verse earlier tonight. I tend to get anxious when there is the threat of "weather." And by weather, I mean tornadoes. We are currently under a tornado watch until 2 a.m. I've been keeping an eye on the weather all day because it is bad. B-A-D, bad. Not here, though. It's been bad in Alabama and Tennessee all day. It's still bad. I'm not excited. Now, I've lived here for almost 12 years now and have yet to experience a tornado. Praying it stays that way. My husband is working tonight, so I'm here with the kids by myself. Yes, I'm sure I will still be up for quite a while tonight waiting for the weather to pass. I'm hoping to have the TV on and just sleep on the couch for the duration.

I also like the first verse in this chapter:

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

My prayer tonight is that my family and friends in Alabama and Tennessee stay safe throughout the rest of this storm system.
