And then there was snow...

...and ice...and snow...and ice. About 5-6" of the stuff so far with more on the way. I had plans for a Girls' Night Out with my Sunday School class tonight. Yeah, cancelled. Not because The Melting Pot is closed due to snow, but because most of us are snowed in. Most. There are a couple who live on the other side of the interstate and didn't get any snow or ice this morning. Not sure how it's looking for them this afternoon/evening.

At least it's pretty.

Patiently Waiting...

It's supposed to snow this afternoon. Haven't seen any yet. I'll believe it when I see it. {Side note: 5 minutes after I typed this out, it started snowing}.

Supposed to snow again Friday night. Again, I'll believe it when I see it.

Since it's been sooooo long, I want to do a thankful post. So, here we go:

  1. being a stay-at-home-mom even though my kids are in school
  2. babysitting twice a week for pay
  3. daily workouts at the YMCA
  4. chocolate chip cookies
  5. coffee with hot chocolate and vanilla caramel creamer
  6. coffee dates with friends
  7. date nights
  8. lunch dates with friends
  9. relatively clutter free living room
  10. watching snow fall
  11. facebook friends
  12. movies
  13. a clean kitchen table
  14. scentsy
  15. choir
  16. Bible study
  17. friends who are like sisters
  18. girls' night out
  19. netflix tv series (Psych, House, NCIS)
  20. found candy bars that were stashed 2 years ago

My Once a Year Obligatory Post...Maybe

Yeah, so I'm not so great at this blogging thing. But, for all 3 of my followers, here's a new post. It's past mid-January and I don't do resolutions, but I have some things I do want to accomplish this year. In no particular order:

  • keep my house uncluttered - I've gotten a good start on that by using the Konmari method as described in The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering by Marie Kondo.
  • read 50 books - thanks to the GoodReads app, I can keep track of the books I read this year.
  • work back up to running 10K because I registered for the Cooper River Run - I've gotten a good start on this, too. We joined the YMCA back in May and I've been going pretty faithfully 5 days a week. They got new treadmills after the first of the year that have great presets for interval training. Currently I am using the 2-1 interval setting. I "work" for 2 minutes and "rest" for 1 minute. Working consists of a 2.5 incline and I've set my speed to 4.5 mph for now. Resting consists of a 0.0 incline and walking at 3.5 mph. I'm covering about 4.15 miles in an hour at these settings.
  • work on Bible study - I found a tool on Pinterest that I am going to utilize for the next 31 days or so. It's called "31 Days to Deeper Bible Study". Deeper Bible Study
  • be yielded to God and what he calls me to do - I'm going to China later this year to love on babies...I think that's a good start.
  • stay active with Scentsy - the extra money is nice for treating myself occasionally.
So, there you have it. The big things I want to accomplish this year.
